An Oil City woman entered guilty pleas to two charges last week in a plea bargain in a case stemming from injuries sustained by a one year-old child.
33 year-old Christine Silvis will be sentenced in early June.
Silvis entered guilty pleas to charges of endangering the welfare of a child and making false reports, both misdemeanor counts. In exchange, a charge of aggravated assault, a felony, was dismissed.
The investigation into the case began after a young boy was diagnosed with what was termed “shaken baby syndrome” after the child was rushed to a Pittsburgh hospital in September, 2011. The child, now nearly three, currently lives in an area foster home.
