Oil City’s annual Arbor Day activities have been postponed until next Wednesday, April 24 due to the threat of rainy weather this Friday.

Among the highlights of the 9:30 AM to noon events in Hasson Park will be the transfer of a Tree City USA flag to Oil City by a representative of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry.  It will mark the 16th time the city has been designated a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Other activities on Wednesday morning will include displays and programs on planting trees, the lives of trees, how wildfires are fought, and an update on projects to control erosion and construct a new bridge inside Hasson Park.
