Crews continues working Friday morning on a problem underneath Center Street on Oil City’s North Side.
The job, presumably created due to a water main malfunction, has forced the detour of all traffic approaching the heavily traveled intersection of Center and Spring Streets and Plummer Avenue. Center Street traffic is being detoured onto Elm Street, and vehicles heading down the hills on Plummer Avenue and on Spring Street are all being siphoned into the intersection of Spring and Sycamore Streets.
The work continues on the first mild day following three straight mornings of sub-zero temperatures. At 8:00 AM Friday, the mercury read thirty degrees. There was no immediate word as to when the street would be reopened.
