A public meeting on the topic of school safety will be held tonight (Wed., Jan. 9) in the auditorium of Oil City High School.

Described as an informal open forum, the event is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 PM.

Among those scheduled to speak are school superintendent Joe Carrico, high school administrator Scott Stahl, Oil City police chief Bob Wenner, and fire chief Steve Hinds.

Carrico told KQW’s Sam Gordon this morning that the meeting will cover three main topics — everyday security measures, the district’s “aggressive updates” to policy and the utilization of social media during school incidents.
