An Oil City man has been sentenced to three months to two years, less one day, in the Venango County Jail for tailing and then threatening another motorist during “morning drive” on a Monday morning just before Christmas.
He also faces a two-year probationary term.
23 year-old Luke Smith had entered guilty pleas in May to charges of stalking, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, the possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving.
Smith was following another driver from Route 8 in Sugarcreek Borough, through Rocky Grove and onto Route 322 in Franklin. At one point, Smith allegedly confronted the other motorist and threatened the driver with what police described at the time as “a crowbar or tire iron.”
