An Oil City man charged in the shooting of another man at a South Side apartment in Oil City last June was sentenced in Venango County Court on Thursday to 20-40 years in prison.

The sentence was handed down following a guilty plea entered by 32 year-old Nathan Conn to a charge of attempted homicide.  Conn had also been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Conn was accused of twice shooting 20 year-old Shane Davidson in the back of the head in what police at the time said appeared to be an incident related to drug trafficking.  Davidson was seriously injured in the incident at an apartment on Beech Street, and required extensive hospital treatment in Pittsburgh.

Conn was arrested in the Barkeyville area some three days after the shootings.  He has been lodged since in the Venango County Jail.
