An Oil City man was charged early Tuesday evening after he allegedly made threats against his neighbors and the police, and created a brief standoff with responding law enforcement officers.
Oil City Police say 52 year-old Stephen Blauser is charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.
Police who responded to a call of a shot being fired say Blauser refused to let them into his home, and threatened to kill those around him. After a brief confrontation, officers were able to get Blauser to surrender. Officers believe that the initial word of a shot being fired came following the detonation of a firecracker they say Blauser had thrown near a young neighbor who was standing between two houses in the area of Grove and Harriot Avenues.
