An Oil City man has been charged with accidentally shooting another man with whom he was hunting last November.
Officials say 24 year-old William Hack was already lodged in the Venango County Jail in Franklin following his arrest two weeks ago on charges stemming from the alleged indecent assault of a four year-old boy. His preliminary hearing in that case was postponed.
Hack is now charged with shooting a human while hunting and counts connected with allegedly illegally obtaining a hunting license.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission claims that Hack accidentally discharged a crossbow into the shoulder and back of a hunting companion. The incident was said to have occurred November 2 in the Rynd Hill area in Cornplanter Township. The other hunter underwent several weeks of treatment, including a stint in a Pittsburgh hospital.
A hearing on the new charges is slated for May 8.
