An Oil City man has been arrested following a New Year’s Eve altercation involving two other men.

Oil City police say 54 year-old James Deemer has been released on bail after having been arraigned on charges which include aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, trespassing, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Police say two men told them Deemer was trespassing near the intersection of West Fourth and Wyllis Streets at about 2:30 AM Monday morning, that he proceeded to clear snow off one of the men’s vehicles, and that he pulled a handgun on them when they asked him what he was doing.

No one was injured in the altercation.  Deemer faces a preliminary hearing scheduled for next Wednesday.
