The real estate tax increase contained in Oil City’s 2014 budget will represent a 1.35 mill hike, after all.
The increase will mean an extra $13.50 will be levied for every $10,000 in assessed property value.
Oil City Council gave its final approval to a $16.2 million budget on Thursday afternoon. It raises the city’s property millage rate to 11.97. The tax hike was approved by a 3-to-2 vote.
Council also okayed $4 to $12 hikes for monthly water and sewage service.
