One of three men accused in a number of Mercer County robberies in the summer of 2011 has been found not guilty in Mercer County Court.

27 year-old Shawn Lee, from Masury, Ohio, had been tried on charges of robbery, conspiracy and other counts in robberies at convenience stores in West Middlesex and Farrell and a mini-market in Hempfield Township.  Lee, Greenville resident Arthur Novel, and 30 year-old Jeffrey Anderson, also from Greenville, were all implicated in the crimes.  Anderson was shot and killed by police who tried to arrest him as Anderson drove away from his home in July 2011.

Novel is still awaiting trial.

Lee had been jailed since August 1, 2011.  In the interim, charges filed against him by Brookfield, Ohio police in the robbery of a convenience store in their community were withdrawn.
