Seung-Yul Noh buckled down to record a 1-under-par 71 in Sunday’s final round, and to win for the first time on the PGA Tour, capturing the Zurich Classic at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale, Louisiana.
With a four-day total of 19-under-par 269 (65-68-65-71), Noh won $1.224 million. At age 22, he is this year’s youngest PGA winner. Noh played Sunday’s round while wearing yellow and black ribbons on his cap in honor of the more than 300 dead or missing in the tragic ferry accident in his native South Korea.
Technically, Noh never trailed in the final round, although Keegan Bradley did tie him after Sunday’s second hole. However, with a bogey on the fifth hole followed by a triple-bogey on number-six, Bradley stumbled to a 75 and finished in a tie for eighth place. Jeff Overton pulled to within one stroke of Noh, but placed fourth.
Robert Streb and Andrew Svoboda tied foe second place at -17.
