Reports from Erie County indicate that there were no serious injuries Thursday morning when a Greyhound bus rear-ended a flatbed truck.
Rumors about numerous injuries had surfaced after the bus driver needed to be extricated from his seat, and several passengers who were removed from the side of the bus were initially placed on stretchers. The driver of the flatbed vehicle, which was hauling building materials, was not hurt.
Still, about a dozen of the 26 bus passengers were taken to area hospitals for observation.
Authorities say the vehicles were traveling east on Interstate 90, west of the Interstate 79 interchange, when the incident occurred around 7:00 AM Thursday. Traffic was able to resume heading eastbound by mid-morning.
The State Police are investigating the crash.
