No injuries were reported and officials say they discovered no hazardous material spills after five cars of a railroad train derailed in Franklin’s Third Ward.

The incident occurred late Wednesday afternoon along Pacific Street near a Franklin Industries lot.  New York and Western Railroad officials said one of the derailed train cars was hauling a flammable gas called isobutylene.

Traffic was not affected by the incident.  Officials of the state Department of Environmental Protection were among those called to the scene.
