The Mercer County District Attorney’s office says no charges will be filed in the shooting death of a seven year-old Fredonia-area boy in early December.
Authorities say young Craig Wolfe-Loughery died when he was struck by a shot from a handgun that accidentally discharged while his father was getting into his car. The boy was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle when the fatal incident occurred on December 8th.
44 year-old Joseph Loughery had just left a gun shop in East Lackawannock Township near Mercer, and the incident happened in the store parking lot. His son was pronounced dead at the scene.
