An investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed the 77 year-old Beach Club and Dockside Bar at Conneaut Lake Park early Thursday morning failed to lead to any conclusions regarding the origin.
That statement by investigators was made after the fire rekindled on Friday morning. Total damages could reach $750,000.
Nine fire companies spent three-and-a-half hours on the scene of the original fire, which was reported shortly after 2:00 AM Thursday. The buildings were leveled, and a miniature train, numerous midway attractions and one car of the famed Blue Streak rollercoaster which were stored in the basement were destroyed.
Several boats docked on Conneaut Lake near the Beach Club were damaged.
