A New York City man has been charged in Franklin with stealing items from a home he owns in Franklin, but which belong to someone else who was living in the house.

Franklin City Police say, in May, Kevin Goldston removed more than $8,000 worth of items from a Buffalo Street residence which belong to a former tenant, identified as a Franklin man, and to another individual.  Goldston allegedly took the items back to New York with him, and rented the home to someone else.

Police say the items were never returned to the rightful owners.

Goldston has been charged with theft.  Police did not indicate where Goldston is at the present time.
