A New Bethlehem man has been charged in Venango County in a State Police investigation in which he is accused of attempting to pay a minor to perform sexual acts.

Investigators tell KQW that Douglas Greenawalt was charged Wednesday with prostitution, the corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor, the criminal use of a communication device and harassment.  Four of the five counts are felony charges.

Greenawalt is accused of creating a Facebook account under another name that police say was used to make contact with a juvenile who was allegedly offered money for sexual acts.  The charges were filed in Venango County because the investigation began at a location on Valley Church Road in Richland Township.  State Police in Venango and Clarion Counties were aided in the investigation by officials from the state Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit.
