The Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday.

Walker has been suffering from soreness in his right side.  Pirates manager Clint Hurdle now says the injury involves the oblique.  Walker has not played since Saturday night.

To take Walker’s spot on the active roster, the Pirates recalled infielder Josh Harrison from “AAA” Indianapolis.  Harrison had most recently been with the Pirates one week ago.  He is 2-for-14 (.143) in appearances in 13 games this season with the Pirates.  At Indianapolis, Harrison was batting .317 with 4 home runs, 34 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.
