A man who lived in Mercer County for many years after he served as a guard at a Nazi concentration camp during World War Two died last week, and was buried Monday in Hermitage.

88 year-old Anton Geiser continued fighting deportation attempts up until his last days.

Geiser moved to the Sharon area inthe 1950’s, but no one learned of his past until the federal Justice Department instituted legal proceedings against him about eight years ago.

Geiser claimed that he had been forced to join the Nazi party as a teenager, admitted he had served at a concentration camp, and continued to assert that he had never killed anyone.
