Nashville Routs Penguins 5-1

October 24, 2016
By

The Nashville Predators scored four times in the second period on Saturday night to defeat the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1,

Scott Wilson tallied the only Pittsburgh goal just 52 seconds into the game, but the Pens (3-2-1) never scored again.

Kevin Fiala and Viktor Arvidsson both recorded a pair of goals for Nashville (2-3), who was playing a number of call-ups due to bouts of food poisoning affecting several regulars.  Rookie goaltender Juuse Saros stopped 34-of-35 shots for his first NHL victory.

Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, was removed from the Pens’ net after two periods, and Mike Condon made his Pittsburgh debut with a scoreless third frame.  Fleury had worked every Penguins game so far this season, and made only 18 stops in 23 attempts on Saturday.

The Penguins will next play on Tuesday night when they host the Florida Panthers (3-1-1).  Radio pregame time on 96.3 KQW is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
