If all of the proposed renovations to the Crawford County Fairgrounds are undertaken, costs would top $120,000.

The Crawford County Fair Board began looking at their proposed projects for 2013 last week.

The biggest plans would include upgrades in the main power source, a new barn for draft horses, new roofs for other barns and for an exhibit hall, and expanding water service to several new campsites.

The Crawford County Fair is an annual August event, but the fairgrounds just outside of Meadville are used nearly every weekend from mid-spring until early autumn.  The fairgrounds are owned by the county, but are operated by the independent fair board.

The 2013 Crawford County Fair is scheduled to begin on August 17.  The revamped fair website does not yet list a schedule of events.
