Meadville Man Who Crashed Vehicle Into Post Office Sentenced To County Jail Time

A Meadville man who police say was under the influence of heroin when he slammed his vehicle into two buildings in  downtown Meadville in July, 2016 was sentenced Monday to up to six months in the Crawford County Jail.

22 year-old Brant Granda had previously been entered into an ARD program, but that court provision was revoked in September after officials in Crawford County learned Granda had been charged this summer with retail theft and trespassing in connection with two separate incidents in Erie County.

Granda then entered a guilty plea in October to a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Meadville Police had charged Granda in the summer of last year after they say his vehicle left Arch Street, hit a telephone company building, crossed the street and slammed into a post office facility.  The original charges included driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
