A Meadville-area man entered guilty pleas Monday in Crawford County Court to charges of arson and endangering the welfare of a child in a 2012 incident in which he was accused of setting an apartment fire following a fight with the baby’s mother.

28 year-old Ryan Pasquito will be sentenced in April.  In a plea agreement, he must pay more than $28,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Pasquito set a fire in the middle of a pile of clothing and other items in the center of the floor of a second-story apartment in a Berkshire Drive complex in Vernon Township in November, 2012.  He then left the scene with his one year-old child.

Police say they found Pasquito carrying his child while walking along Route 19 outside Meadville.  Pasquito allegedly set the child down on the berm, and continued walking until he was apprehended by the authorities.
