The Pitt Panthers fell to 1-3 in Big East Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 74-67 overtime home loss to Marquette (12-3; 3-0).
Vander Blue led the Golden Eagles with 22 points. Lamar Patterson finished with 22 points for Pitt (13-4 overall), forcing overtime with a three-pointer at the buzzer that ended regulation play.
Marquette helped win the game at the foul line, sinking six straight free throws at one point in the overtime period.
Point guard James Robinson added 12 points for the Panthers, and redshirt freshman Durand Johnson scored ten points in 25 minutes of playing time off the Pitt bench.
