Malkin, Newcomer Streit Lead Pens To 5-2 Home Victory Over Tampa Bay

Evgeni Malkin recorded two goals and an assist, and newcomer Mark Streit tallied one of each as the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a 5-2 home win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.

Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel both added two assists, Justin Schultz scored his tenth goal of the year and Tom Kuhnhackl posted an empty-net goal.  Matt Murray (24-8-3) stopped 27-of-29 shots to earn the win.

Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay (29-26-8), and Adam Erne picked up his first NHL goal.  Peter Budaj (27-21-3) took the loss.

The Penguins (39-16-8) moved back into a second-place tie with Columbus, seven points behind Washington in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division.  They will host Buffalo at 5:00 PM Sunday.  Radio pregame broadcast time on 96.3 KQW will be 4:30 PM.
