Maggie Lucas Tops 2,500 Points In Penn State’s Tournament Win Over Florida

Maggie Lucas and Dara Taylor both scored 22 points Tuesday night, and Lucas passed the 2,500-point mark in career scoring as the Penn State Lady Lions topped Florida 83-61 in the second round of the NCAA women’s tournament at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College.

The win puts Penn State (24-7) into the Sweet Sixteen round where they will play at Stanford (30-3) on Sunday afternoon.

Ariel Edwards added 18 points for Penn State, who shot 52 percent from the floor in the second half.  Kayla Lewis led the Gators (20-13) with 20 points, while Jaterra Bonds added 14 points, and Carlie Needles added 13.
