The numerous weather transitions over the last several days spawned several traffic accidents in the region. One crash resulted in the arrest of a State College man.
A Cochranton man may have been the most seriously injured of any of the drivers who were involved. Accident investigators say 73 year-old Richard Clevenger was rushed to Meadville Medical Center after his car spun on ice on Route 322 between Cochranton and Meadville. Clevenger’s wife escaped injury in that crash late Friday morning.
A Vowinckel woman is being treated at UPMC Northwest in Cranberry following a one-vehicle crash on Route 157 on Saturday night. State troopers described injuries suffered by 40 year-old Patricia Bloom as “moderate.”
And, a State College man was arrested on three outstanding warrants following a one-vehicle accident Saturday night on Route 417. State Police say an SUV driven by 42 year-old James Polo left the road, struck a sign, traveled through a yard, continued into the woods, and struck a tree. Police say Polo was arrested as he tried to flee on foot.
