Local Driver Hospitalized In Meadville After Collision With Deer

A Franklin-area man was taken to a Meadville hospital early Monday morning after a collision with a deer near Cooperstown.

State Police from the Franklin station say 18 year-old Matthew Burk was injured around 2:30 AM after he struck a deer on Lake Creek Road in Jackson Township.  After the impact, Burk’s  vehicle crashed in a corn field.

There was no early report on Burk’s medical status.  Troopers say Burk had been wearing his seat belt.
