In yet another sign of spring, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will hold its annual spring open house at the Linesville State Fish Hatchery on Saturday, April 5 from 11:00 AM until 3:30 PM.
Those attending will have the chance to learn about fly casting, fly tying, rod rigging, boating regulations and even how to tell the age of a fish. Representatives of many of the partner agencies of the Fish and Boat Commission will have booths set up.
Organizers do advise us that some traditional activities may be hampered by a shortfall of open water on Pymatuning Lake, but some add that the ice on the lake has been rapidly disappearing.
The hatchery is located on Hartstown Road, about a half-mile south on Route 6 from the only traffic signal in Linesville.
