Matt Kenseth passed one teammate, Kyle Busch, with 13 laps remaining, and held off another teammate, Denny Hamlin, to win Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race, the Bojangles Southern 500, at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

For Kenseth, it was the third Sprint Cup victory of the year, and the 27th of his career, but the first at Darlington.  He had previously won three times there in the Nationwide Series.  Despite a recent points penalty, Kenseth stands third in Sprint Cup points, behind Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards.

For Hamlin, it was the first completed race since he fractured his back on March 24.  He had missed four races, and then drove just 23 laps at Talladega the previous weekend.

Jeff Gordon finished third.  Polesitter Kurt Busch placed 14th.
