Kenny Perry followed a one-over par score of 71 in the first round with scores of 63, 63 and 64 to win the Constellation Senior Players Championship at Fox Chapel Golf Club, just northeast of Pittsburgh on Sunday.
The seven-under-par round on the final day allowed Perry to pass third-round leader Fred Couples, who finished with a 68. Perry closed at 19-under-par-261, while Couples tied for second place at -17 with Duffy Waldorf, who also shot 64 on Sunday. Michael Allen and John Huston tied for fourth place at -12.
Meanwhile, Bill Haas recorded a five-under-par 66 on Sunday to win the AT&T National by three strokes over Roberto Castro at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. D.H. Lee and his middle finger tied for third place at -8 with Jason Kokrak.
And, the world’s top-ranked player, Imbee Park, became the first woman to win the first three majors of a season with four or more major tournaments. Park won the U.S. Women’s Open by four strokes over I.K. Kim, finishing at 8-under-par 280 at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, New York. Behind Kim (-4), the only other golfer to finish under par was So Yeon Ryu at -1. The women now have five majors per year on their schedule.
