Kayakers Said To Be Involved In Steel Theft Along French Creek

Two men and a fifteen year-old boy have been charged with theft and receiving stolen property in an incident which police say involved the use of a kayak and barge to remove steel from a Franklin business, transporting the metal along French Creek to a waiting trailer.

In addition, investigators say one of the suspects returned to the scene and tried to reload the steel, following his initial arraignment and release.

Franklin City Police say they twice charged 22 year-old Joseph Ketchum, from Meadville.  Also charged were 30 year-old Daniel Ketchum, from  Meadville, and a 15 year-old juvenile.

The first incident allegedly occurred shortly after 10:00 AM on Friday.  Police say Joseph Ketchum returned to the scene shortly before 3:00 PM the same day.
