Law enforcement officials in Butler County say a Karns City woman faces charges after an incident Wednesday which resulted in a lockdown at an elementary school.
State Police say 27 year-old Ashley Soose called Chicora Elementary School just after noon on Wednesday to say that her son’s father, who was about to pick up their child, was carrying a gun. The father arrived, and was detained, but no weapon was found. In the meantime, the school was placed into a lockdown mode.
After an investigation into the initial phone call, the mother was charged. Police say Soose faces charges of making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
No motive was given for the woman’s call.
