A Karns City man died Wednesday afternoon, and one of two toddlers riding with him was injured, when the man allegedly tried to flee police at a traffic stop south of Slippery Rock.
State Police officials say 20 year-old Adam Williams had been driving without a license and with an expired inspection sticker.
Troopers say they approached Williams’ vehicle from the opposite direction, and turned around in the highway to pull him over for traffic violations. Williams reportedly accelerated rapidly, but his car left the road after about 200 yards, slammed into an embankment and flipped over.
Williams was ejected from his vehicle.
Police say Williams’ two daughters, ages one and two, were riding with him. The older girl sustained minor injuries.
The fatal incident happened shortly before 1:30 PM Wednesday on a road in Brady Township, Butler County.
