Joy Mining Union Workers Get Wage And Pension Hikes In New Four-Year Contract

Officials of Joy Mining have confirmed that the company and its unionized employees have approved a new four-year contract to succeed the previous four-year deal which expired over the weekend.

Despite extensive job reductions in recent years, Joy Mining remains the largest private employer in Venango County.

The contract covers more than 500 employees who are represented by the International  Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  Details were not released, but both sides say the deal includes hikes in both wages and pension monies.
