Matt Jones, from Australia, sank a 42-yard pitch shot on the first playoff hole on Sunday, beating Matt Kuchar to win the PGA’s Houston Open at The Golf Club of Houston.

Jones won for the first time on the PGA Tour, and qualified for this week’s Masters Tournament.  His wonder shot followed a Sunday round of 6-under-par 66 that tied him with third-round leader Kuchar at 15-under-par 273, after Kuchar hit a fairway shot on the final hole of regulation play into the water, and settled for an even-par 72.

Second-round leader Sergio Garcia went 73-70 over the weekend, and finished two strokes back, and one shot ahead of Cameron Tringale.
