James Harrison Re-Signed Through Age 40

March 2, 2017

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that they have re-signed veteran linebacker James Harrison to a new two-year contract.

Other reports indicate the deal is worth $3.5 million.

Harrison, who will turn 39 on May 4, is already the oldest linebacker in the National Football League.  Only two NFL linebackers, Junior Seau and Clay Matthews Jr., played at age 40.

Harrison is the Steelers’ career sacks leader, and has spent all but one year of his 14-season NFL career with Pittsburgh.
