The city of Franklin’s annual Taste of Franklin weekend kicks off Friday, August 2 with the return of a collection of organ grinders who will be performing their craft at DeBence Antique Music World on both Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
Other Saturday activity will include an expanded version of the community’s Farmers Market from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM, and the semifinals of this year’s Taste of Talent Vocal Competition, beginning at 7:00 PM at the South Park bandstand.
Food-tasting day, though, is Sunday. Visitors will have the chance to taste-test the finest cuisine from Franklin restaurants and supermarkets from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM in the city’s West Park (“Fountain Park”). Other Sunday activities will include musical entertainment, a motorcycle cruise-in, an antique show, a magic show, and tours of DeBence Antique Music World.
The finals of the Taste of Talent Vocal Competition are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday at the bandstand.
Running in connection with Taste of Franklin, which is sponsored by the Franklin Fine Arts Council, will be the Franklin Retail Merchants Association’s annual Old-Fashioned Bargain Days.
