PennDOT has announced that a repaving project on Interstate 80 in Mercer County is scheduled to begin on Monday (April 1).
The work area will cover more than six-and-a-half miles from the Venango-Mercer County line to a spot just under two miles east of the junction with Interstate 79.
The project will include milling, resurfacing, concrete patching, and upgrades to guard rails, signs, pavement markings and drainage areas.
No detour will be posted, but flagmen will be on duty throughout the project.
Weather permitting, the work should be completed by August 12.
Earlier PennDOT had announced that a two-year maintenance project on Interstate 80 bridges near the Venango-Clarion County line will also begin on Monday. The project will include work in both directions on the Emlenton Bridge, and on spans across the Clarion River and Beaver Creek.
Lane closures and a 12-foot width restriction will be in effect.
