PennDOT announced Friday that work on several Interstate 80 bridges between the Emlenton and Clarion exits will begin on April 1.
The two-year project will include maintenance and painting work between April and November of this calendar year. Work will resume next spring. Lane closures and 12-foot width restrictions will be included in the changes drivers will encounter.
The project will include work in both directions on the Emlenton Bridge and on spans that cross the Clarion River and Beaver Creek.
PennDOT spokesman Jim Carroll says the $27.1 million project will help increase the lives of the bridges and keep them from deteriorating.
