The Clarion University student who was injured in what police now term a drive-by shooting has been identified as 19 year-old Rakeeah Merritt.
Clarion Borough Police say Merritt was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after she was shot in the right leg shortly after 2:00 AM on Saturday morning. The incident occurred on Leatherwood Drive near the university campus.
Merritt was listed in stable condition following weekend surgery.
Meanwhile, police believe they have retrieved a half dozen shells from the weapon used in the incident. Their investigation continues, and other details of the shooting incident are still unreleased.
