Now that he has assumed his office as the state Senator from Pennsylvania’s 21st District, Oil City’s Scott Hutchinson will concentrate, among other things in Harrisburg, on his post as the Chairman of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee.

Hutchinson, formerly state Representative for the 64th Legislative District, was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati.

The Intergovernmental Operations Committee has ten members and holds jurisdiction over proposals to restructure state government, such as consolidating state agencies to cut costs and improve efficiency.

In a recent statement, Hutchinson said he is looking forward to “working toward implementing structural changes that improve state services and programs while saving taxpayers money.”
