Historic Preservation Award Winners To Be Recognized On May 8

This year’s Oil Heritage Region Historic Preservation Award winners will be recognized at a free program scheduled for Thursday, May 8 in Titusville.

The awards program recognizes rehabilitation and restoration efforts over the past five years involving buildings or other structures in the Oil Heritage Region which are at least fifty years old.  In addition, individuals may be honored for their service or commitment to the promotion of the preservation of the “built environment.”

This year’s winners include Hydetown Borough, Oil City’s Second Presbyterian Church, Dave and Helen Heinzer, Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, Oil City’s Latonia Theatre and Ballroom, James Love, Brad and Heather Schmader and Barbara Gardner.

Also on the program will be a presentation on Victorian architecture in the Oil Heritage Region to be given by Neil and Lois McElwee.
