Historic Preservation Award Winners to Be Recognized On May 22

The 2013 Oil Heritage Region Historic Preservation Award Winners will be recognized on Wednesday, May 22 at a presentation in Titusville.

The Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism says the awards ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church on the 200-block of North Franklin Street.

This year’s honorees include the Franklin Public Library, Venango Campus of Clarion University (for the West End Pond project in Oil City), the Pleasantville Free Methodist Church, and PennDOT District 1-0 (for the McKinney Arch).

Other awards winners for 2013 include Roy and Christina Ewing, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Parsons, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roeder and Myrna Wescoat.

The May 22 event will also feature a program on Ladies Clothing of the Civil War Era.

The Oil Heritage Region  Historic Preservation Awards are sponsored by the Oil Region Alliance, by the Venango County, Crawford County and Titusville Historical Societies, the Oil City Heritage Society, Titusville Renaissance Incorporated, and the Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry.
