A Harrisville-area man who entered guilty pleas in a case in which he was accused of firing a rifle at his neighbors’ van last summer was handed down his sentence in Butler County Court this week.
44 year-old James Getz was sentenced to six months in county prison, four months of house arrest, and ten years of probation.
Getz was accused of firing a gun as a 56 year-old woman’s van passed his home last July, and threatening two children who were riding in the vehicle. Police had said Getz and the victims all lived on Golden Pond Road in Mercer Township in northern Butler County.
Getz had entered guilty pleas to charges of simple assault and making terroristic threats.
