Christian Hackenberg set a school freshman record with 311 yards passing, and once-beleaguered kicker Sam Ficken kicked a school-record 14th consecutive field goal as Penn State improved to 22-0 at Beaver Stadium on Saturday with a 45-0 whitewash of Eastern Michigan.

Hackenberg was 23-for-33, and threw a 45-yard score to Allen Robinson.

Bill Belton and Zach Zwinak both scored a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Nittany Lions, and Akeel Lynch added a fifth.  Belton and Lynch both rushed for 108 yards.

Foe Eastern Michigan (1-1), Tyreese Russell caught eight passes for 73 yards.  EMU’s only score came on a recovered fumble.

Penn State will host Central Florida next Saturday.
