Governor Tom Corbett returned to work Wednesday after a few days of recuperation at home following surgery last week on an abdominal hernia.
Corbett told a news conference his wife wouldn’t even let him out of their suburban Pittsburgh residence until Tuesday. He added he was glad to have taken care of the medical problem that apparently had bothered him for some time.
On the morning of his surgery last Thursday, doctors reported that the 64 year-old Governor’s health was otherwise in fine condition.
Technically, Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley was the Commonwealth’s Acting Governor for a brief period on Thursday while Corbett was under anesthesia.
