Giordano Goal Beats Pens 2-1 In OT In Calgary

Mark Giordano scored at the 2:19 mark of overtime on Thursday night, giving the Flames a 2-1 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins in Calgary, Alberta.

In goal for the first time this season for the Pens, Tristan Jarry worked a shutout until Calgary’s Sean Monahan broke a scoreless tie with a power play goal with 4:07 remaining in the third period.  Pittsburgh’s Patric Hornqvist tied the game with 1:12 left in regulation.

Jarry (0-0-1) stopped 32-of-34 shots overall, but Calgary improved to 7-6.

Pittsburgh (8-5-2) will finish a five-game road trip on which they have won only once with a Saturday night trip to Vancouver to take on the Canucks (6-4-2).  Radio pregame time on 96.3 KQW will be 9:30 PM.
