Franklin City Police are urging city residents to lock their vehicles.

A rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles has been reported in recent days in many neighborhoods in the city.  Police say none of the incidents involved an actual break-in.

Evidence indicates the thieves have been most interested in the contents of glove compartments and center consoles, but GPS units have been removed from two vehicles.

Any information concerning the thefts should be phoned to the Franklin City Police at 437 – 1644.
